Uploading Data Feeds to Google Shopping (FTP)

From September 15, 2023 connecting your Google Merchant Center via FTP will no longer be possible. Please switch the connection into the SFTP before this date.

In February 2023, Google announced that on September 15, 2023, support for FTP in the Merchant Center will end. 

It means that after September 13, 2023:

  • All existing FTP accounts will be removed from their relevant Merchant Center accounts.
  • Sharing a file with the Merchant Center via FTP will no longer be possible.

To avoid disruption, the merchants using FTP accounts to transfer files to the Merchant Center must migrate to the SFTP data upload method by September 15, 2023. 

How to switch FTP connection to SFTP?

  1. Go to your Google Merchant Center.
  2. Create your SFTP account according to the instructions; submit feeds via SFTP provided by Google. 
  3. Open DataFeedWatch in a new window.
  4. Head to the shop where you’ve got the feeds connected via FTP. 
  5. Open the right channel.

  1. When the mapping screen appears, go to the side navigation and select Channel Settings.
  2. When the Edit Channel panel appears, click on the drop-down FTP Connection to open it.
  3. From the drop-down field, select sftp://. 
  4. Copy this host address and SFTP server port: partnerupload.google.com:19321, and paste it into the Host Address field.
  5. In the following field, introduce the user name.
  6.  Next, paste the password that you might create in Google Merchant Center.
  7. Provide the file name. 
  8. Click the Update Channel button to save the changes. 

If any of the data you provided with are not correct, no worries. We’ll let you know before you save the changes. 

To find the following information: host address, SFTP server port, username, and generate your password:
1. Go to your Google Merchant account.
2. Open the Settings. 
3. Click on SFTP/GCS.
4. You’ll find all the information you need to provide.
